Bulk Earthworks

Lucas Earthmovers has the largest plant and equipment fleet in South Australia and has the capability and capacity to undertake the largest of Bulk earthworks projects. This includes plant pads, tailings dams, overburden stripping, mine rehabilitation and any project with large amounts of cut to fill.

Lucas Earthmovers also has experienced operators capable of performing detailed and complex earthwork formations.

CURRENT PROJECTS

Common User Facility - Air Warfare Destroyer Project Port Adelaide

Lucas Earthmovers is contracted for earlyworks establishment of haul roads and storage areas and subsequently the excavation of the main shiplift facility and unloading of dredging barges, stockpiling and filling of techport precinct. Involves excavation to 17 metres below sea level with 120 tonne 26 metre longreach excavator and unloading of 400,000 m3 of dredged material.

Highbury Landfill Capping

Lucas Earthmovers is contracted to undertake the capping and closure of the former Highbury Landfill Site , involves the cut and fill of 180,000m3 of clay and fill, laying of 100,000 m2 of Geosynthetic Clay Liner and associated wetland roadways and Landscaping.

Adelaide Mushrooms - Monarto

Lucas Earthmovers have been contracted for civil site works for a large undercover facility and hardstands, stormwater management for the Adelaide Mushrooms new complex at Monarto.

Uni SA - Hindmarsh - Wine Innovation & Cluster Building Site

Lucas Earthmovers has been contracted to excavate and remove approximately 20,000 tonne of unsuitable material and replace this with suitable fill from their Southern Waste Depot.

Anglicare - Trott Park - South Australia

Lucas Earthmovers has been working on an 18 month project for Sarah Constructions on a 3 story residential aged care facility at Trott Park in Adelaide's south.

The main components of this project have been to complete the bulk earthworks, cut and fill, as well as construct retaining walls, a carpark, and construct the road works within the facility. The project also requires Lucas to complete the construction of common services to the site, such as storm water facilities and the sewer infrastructure.

PAST PROJECTS

Stage 2 - Harbour Town

Lucas Earthmovers were contracted to do the bulk haulage for Stage 2 of the Harbour Town development at Adelaide Airport. Lucas supplied and hauled over 30,000 tonne of select fill material from their Southern Waste depot, and built the site to a subgrade level.

Southern Expressway Stage 2

Lucas operating as a contractor to the Joint Venture consortium undertook bulk earthworks, blasting, screening mound construction, environmental earthworks and wetland construction. Shared path construction, pavement preparation. Cut to fill of 2 million tonnes of material. Preliminary earthworks commenced February 2000; Lucas' portion of the works was in excess of $10 Million. The project covered over 12kms through built up areas.

Big W - Monarto

Contracted to construct approximately 60,000 m2 of building platform, car parks and access roads including rock excavation and stormwater contracts, concrete works, base courses and pavements. All works were performed within a very intensive construction program.

Tailings Dams HWE Iron Duke

Construction of a clay lined tailings dam of approximately 4500 ML. Work was undertaken utilizing graders, dozers, water carts, compactors and scrapers and involved bulk cut and fill work.

Burbridge Business Park Early Works

Works including roadway construction, large culvert crossings, stormwater drainage and approximately 1km of drainage channel and detention basin construction at Adelaide Airport to provide infrastructure for the newly constructed Burbridge Business Park. Works were undertaken in severe weather conditions by using articulated dump trucks and swamp dozers to complete the works on time.

The Marina Hindmarsh Island

Contracted to construct stage 7 of the Marina Hindmarsh Island, Lucas provided bulk excavation, lagoon edging and roadway construction for the next stage of sale at the Marina Hindmarsh Island
