ILUKA Jacinth-Ambrosia Alliance - Mineral Sands

Iluka Resources Limited recently announced development approval for its Jacinth-Ambrosia mineral sands project, approximately 200 kilometres North West of Ceduna.

Jacinth-Ambrosia is expected to be Australia's largest zircon operation and a major global supplier of high quality zircon, used in the manufacture of ceramics and a range of other consumer applications.

Iluka Resources Limited is an Australian Stock Exchange listed resources company (ASX code: ILU) and is involved in the exploration, project development, operation and marketing of mineral sands.

Iluka's core business is the production and processing of mineral sands (producing ilmenite, rutile, synthetic rutile and leucoxene) and zircon with its business based in Australia and the United States.

Cape Jaffa Anchorage

Civil contractor for Cape Jaffa Anchorage, a sophisticated residential and commercial marina development comprised of some 500 allotments, Lucas has commenced construction which involves some 3 million m3 of material from waterways, construction of seawalls and establishment of Block making for 22km of retaining wall for edge treatment, construction of marina berths, breakwater and 700m wharf area for commercial fishing fleet, establishment of sewer system and treatment plant, and other reticulated services.

OZ MINERALS Prominent Hill Copper Gold Project - Copper gold concentrates

Prominent Hill is Located approximately 650km North West of Adelaide and is one of the world's next significant copper and gold mines.

Activity onsite began in September 2006 with the commencement of pre mining activities. The mine is expected to start producing ore for export by end of 2008. Lucas onsite workforce peaked at approx 70 employees all living onsite with the majority of employees sourced from local and surrounding communities.

Lucas has won all major earthworks contracts onsite including

Topsoil stripping (September 2006 - July 2008)
Permanent Airstrip Construction (January 2007 - April 2007)
Plant Site Bulk Earthworks (March 2007 - July 2007)
Mine Site Access Roads Stages 1 & 2 (April 2007 - September 2007)
Tailings Storage Facility (September 2007 - March 2008)
Miscellaneous Site Works (September 2007 - Current)
Concentrate Haul Road (November 2007 - Current)

Works onsite are expected to be completed by the end of 2008.

Luck Bay & Wallaroo Sea Ferry Terminals - Project for Sea Transport SA

January 2007 Lucas Earthmovers completed the construction of the Lucky Bay & Wallaroo ferry terminals. The scope of the works included bulk excavation, rock revetment walls, breakwater construction, concrete bridges, loading ramps, steel pile installation.  Lucas Earthmovers also constructed and designed the fender struts and concrete anchors.
